Originating as a grad project, Eye of the Needle is a Seattle-centric YouTube channel aimed at sharing the insight, culture, and stories of the area.

Goals
Create a Seattle-centric YouTube channel, develop branding for the channel, and create and post video content that aligns with the channel’s mission.
Process
I designed the branding for my team’s Eye of the Needle Youtube channel. This included the name, logo, intro, and our mission statement of “Threading together the insight, culture, & stories that create the Emerald City.”
For the logo, my team knew we wanted our channel’s focus to be Seattle-centric, I wanted to include an element that was representative of the city. After establishing our channel’s name, I resolved to incorporate the iconic Space Needle with a unique tweak that evoked our name and mission.
For the channel intro, I used an image of the Seattle city skyline as the background; a photograph I had taken shortly after I first moved here. I overlayed it with a light, semi-transparent blur in order to conjure the grey and blue overcast hues normally associated with the city.
